   TOEIC BRIDGE

What Is It?
It is a test that was developed by Educational Testing Service (ETS) to measure emerging English language competencies.

Who Takes It And Why?
Beginning and intermediate learners of English take the TOEIC® Bridge test to have their skills assessed and help them to focus on areas of improvement.

How Does It Work?
This test features questions that are significantly easier than the TOEIC test questions. It is designed to help teachers and students assess, practice, and improve listening and reading comprehension of English.

Upon test completion, candidates receive separate listening and reading scores. They also receive feedback in the critical areas of listening strategies, functions, grammar, vocabulary, and reading strategies.

Test Content
The TOEIC Bridge test is a paper-and-pencil test, composed of 100 multiple-choice questions. Although the actual testing time is approximately 60 minutes, examinees must complete the biographical questions on the answer sheet and respond to a brief questionnaire about their educational and work history. Therefore, you should allow approximately 90 minutes to take the test.

The Two Main Test Sections:

1. Listening Comprehension
Test takers will hear recorded statements, questions, short conversations, and short talks in English, and answer 50 questions based on what they hear. There are three parts:
     Part 1: Photographs (15 questions)
     Part 2: Question-Response (20 questions)
Part 3: Short Conversations and Short Talks (15 questions)
Part This section will take about 25 minutes to complete.

2. Reading
Test takers will read single sentences as well as texts, and then answer 50 questions based on what they read. There are two parts:
Part 4: Incomplete Sentences (30 questions)
Part 5: Reading Comprehension (20 questions)
This section will take about 35 minutes to complete.
