General Information
Amgen Scholars at Kyoto University participate in a challenging and intensive eight-week summer research program under the guidance of Kyoto University’s faculty mentors, graduate student assistants, and staff, with training opportunities in the laboratory. Kyoto University will accept undergraduate students in laboratories among research fields that include Molecular Medicine, Cell Biology, Neuroscience, Microbiology, Bioengineering, Chemistry, and Quantum Dynamics.
The major objectives of the Kyoto University Amgen Scholars Program are to provide scholars with a focused, intellectually stimulating summer research program and equip them with real-world skills and techniques that will be transferable to their future careers in science. Scholars will be encouraged to develop their analytical skills by critically assessing their research methods and results. They will also be able to develop their communication skills in terms of writing up research results and summaries of their findings, as well as communicating effectively with their peers and faculty mentors.

Eligibility
- A strong record of academic performance; and,
- An excellent working knowledge of English, demonstrated by a minimum TOEIC L&R score of 785
- An interest in pursuing a PhD.
