Now they are hiring staff in Kuala Lumpur, who will work as Procurement Sourcing professionals in IBM Japan Services and General Procurement (S&GP) team
Job Description
Activities related to Strategic Sourcing:
· Analyze the commodity spend and come up with a sourcing strategy to reduce the cost of internal clients
· Research markets in order to look for supplier engagement opportunity and verify existing suppliers’ competitiveness
· Issue RFP’s select the right suppliers to realize the sourcing strategy. May act as a leader or follower of a task team of a big RFP project
· Collaborate with internal clients to determine the supplier selection criteria and evaluate suppliers’ proposals against it
· Analyze fair value price of the commodity and achieve it through negotiation with suppliers
· Create contracts and negotiate the terms and conditions with suppliers
· Monitor the performance of the suppliers after the closure of RFP and ensure the achievement of strategic objectives
Activities related to tactical sourcing and procurement operation:
· Receive sourcing requests from internal clients and confirm the requirements
· Obtain quotation from a core supplier who is already entitled through the strategic sourcing activity
· Ensure the supplier’s quotation follows the agreed contract terms and conditions
· Conduct competitive bidding among suppliers when a core supplier for the commodity is not predefined or not available
· Document the supplier selection reason and fair value determination analysis
· Negotiate to flow down contract terms and conditions from customer contract when it is necessary
· Process supplier registration and qualification when a new supplier is needed
· Negotiate base agreement and other related procurement agreements when registering a new supplier or when needed to refresh the existing agreements
· Issue PO manually when Hands-Free PO solutions can’t be applied
· Amend PO when the change is needed by an internal client
· Follow up the delivery of the goods and services from suppliers when they are not delivered in time
· Follow up the receipt process by an internal client when it is not done in time. Expedited payment process may be needed, too
Job Requirement
- More than 2 years of experience in working in Procurement or Sourcing organization. Experience in sourcing activity is preferable.
- Experience in solving conflicts with stakeholders outside of the department
- Communication and negotiation skills. Need to be demonstrated by experienced examples in the career.
- Logical thinking skill to develop sourcing and negotiation strategy
- Fluent Japanese language skill. JLPT N1 or N2 are required. Need to read, write, listen, and speak Japanese every moment. Most of the business communication is done in Japanese. Local candidates who studied in Japan universities or have JLPT N1 or N2 are encouraged to apply.
- Business level English language skill. TOEIC 700 or equivalent is required. Many of the trainings and guidance are given in English. TOEIC 800 or above is preferable in order to increase the opportunity to communicate with executives located worldwide.
- Basic IT skills to use multiple web applications and tools effectively
- Basic knowledge of IT industry and IBM strategy
